Before we start to setup everything, let
me first introduce you to xmms and kjofol.

What is xmms?
Xmms is an audio player for linux. For you windows jockeys, you might realize its similarities to the mp3 player WinAMP.It first started out as X11Amp but the organization separated and xmms is what became of it. Xmms takes up little resources and lets you use cool skins to add style to your desktop without bogging it down. For this guide you will need to vists the xmms project homepage and download the latest tarball "xmms-1.2.1.tar.gz". |

What is kjofol?
kjofol is a plugin that gives xmms the ability to accept skins like this one. Skins that have rare and cool looking designs which xmms normally wouldn't be able to use is the reason behind this plugin. The kofol project originally started off only supporting windows, but when the open source community got hold of it, this plugin was quickly created. Please note the red text represents commands that you will type in a terminal.
Ok, lets get started.
Goto the directory you downloaded the two files into and move xmms-1.2.1.tar.gz and kint_xmms-0.94.tar.gz to the directory /usr/local/src.
mv xmms-1.2.1.tar.gz /usr/local/src
mv kint_xmms-0.94.tar.gz
/usr/local/src/
Untar the files.
tar zxf xmms-1.2.1.tar.gz
tar zxf kint_xmms-0.94.tar.gz
Now change to the xmms directory
cd xmms-1.2.1/
Configure the program and start the install
./configure
make; make install
Xmms is now installed. Now change directory to the kjofol plugin dir
cd ../xmms-kj/
Now we configure and install kjofol by typing this.
make; make install
Now everything is installed.. go ahead and start up xmms by typing the follow
xmms &
There you go..thats regular xmms for you. Now we will enable the kjofol plugin.
Right click on xmms anywhere and click on Options --> Preferences
Click on the Visualisation Plugins tab then click on K-Jofol Interface from the menu and click enable. You should see the default kjofol skin pop up (an ugly grey and green skin). Hey mikey, it works.
Now im sure you are saying, dont leave me with this crappy skin, how do I use skins i download? Its very simple.
Download a skin from customize.org
Make the directory kjofol in ~/.xmms/kjofol (you only need to do this once)
mkdir ~/.xmms/kjofol
Download all of the skin.zip files into ~/.xmms/kjofol. DO NOT ATTEMPT TO UNZIP THE SKIN.ZIP FILES! You wont need to worry about that.
