I am trying to boot Windows 7 on my desktop. I get to a point where it asks me where I want to install to and doesn't bring up my hard drive as an option. It just brings up my two CD drives and anything I select it tells me that I need a hard drive with NTFS to install.

-How do I know if my hard drive is formatted right?
-How do I get through this and install Windows 7?

I am very newbie in this sort of thing.

This is a linux forum.
I've only installed Windows 7 using HP's restore disks so might not be much help.
Need some information on your hardware i.e.type of computer etc.
The installer should be able to partition and format the drive automatically.
