An ISO can have various meanings but typically it is a image file of a data CD which conforms to the ISO9660 standard. Disk images are not necessarily ISO files

First thanks for responding. Second what I am trying to do is take a pc that is configured to our settings and transfer that OS to another machine. I have done this with Windows of creating a disk image then from there creating an ISO for storage. Then when needed extract the ISO and install the image.
So I guess the better question to ask is how do I get past the Permission error so that I can compress my OS files. Once I am at this stage I can then create the ISO that I require.
