Hey guys I'm new here as well as to linux so pls bear with me.
I got following situation:
I had Windows XP installed on my Laptop
I also had Linux Mint 6 installed on my Laptop
So at one point I decided to update my Linux Mint to a newer version. I download the .iso burn it to a disc and put that disc into my Laptop.
During the installation however my CD drive decides to give up on me and the whole thing freezes. I try to boot but I get a grub rescue> message with no available commands whatsoever. I got an USB stick with Puppy Linux working on my Laptop again but I cant get into Windows XP because of the grub error.
So the problem is that I want to be able to access Windows XP again (As well as the installation of Puppy Linux on my HD) BUT my CD drive is broken.
Any ideas whatsoever?
Thanks in advance
