Linux will install fine on the system however while installing and when done, the screen flicks violently and i'm unable to do anything.
it is not the monitor or hard drive. and i've tried multiple types of linux and all of them did the same flicking. any ideas?

I would assume your problem was due to not having the correct graphics adapter drivers being installed but you did not provide any hardware information or what which linux distributions you were trying to install.
