Hi Linuxites
I am a novice using linux but trying to learn to use it. I am presently attempting to compile a software package that requires gcc and g77. However, my computer with this software package does not have g77; however, I found g77 on another computer. Can I just "copy" g77 from that computer and place it on mine??? Or are there libraries to consider and their location?? I would be very surprised if it was as easy as just copying.

Simply put, I want to compile with g77 and need to find a way to install it on my linux (Fedora). Can one of the experts tell me where to get it on-line and how to place it correctly on my linux??

I would greatly appreciate any help I can get.

From the command line you can install FORTRAN (as root):
yum install gcc-gfortran
