how do I get my wireless to work on kubuntu? it's not finding any available connections. The only connection it will find is via ethernet cable. I'm totally lost. I have an atheros 5001 wireless adapter so I'm assuming that I need a new driver?

ath5k is the correct and current module.
Does the output of the following command show your wireless interface ie. wlan0?
iwconfig

If that works look at the output of the command
iwlist wlan0 scan

This should list all available access points.
