Hi everybody!
As a newbie in the Linux universe i need some help with the installation of a driver for my wlan. I have downloaded a driver for my netcard Realtek 8187SE which only works with MS Vista an so on. Therefore i installed the ndiswrapper. What is the next step? I have the driver files unzipped in a folder and I have tried to use the Gnome terminal, but doesnt seem to work... how do you install new software that you have downloaded for the internet in Linux? The OS is installed on a MSI wind notebook and is online by cable...

This could be a native drive for your wireless adapter.

What do you mean by does not seem to work? Please post error messages and the steps you have actually attempted. I assume that ndiswrapper installed successfully.
ndiswarpper -i filename.inf (replace filename with the actual wireless inf file.)
modprobe ndiswrapper
