Hey, does anyone know why I am not able to run ./configure?

I get this error:

checking for gcc... /usr/local/bin/gcc
checking whether the C compiler (/usr/local/bin/gcc ) works... no
configure: error: installation or configuration problem: C compiler cannot creat
e executables.

I'm not sure of how Redhat 9's package selection works, but you need to install some development packges. The packages you need, at the very least, are gcc, autoconf, autogen, make, etc. Redhat should have some rolled up way to install a bunch of development packages at once in whatever they use for package installation.
