Please help a new linus user. I have the code,have opened the terminal,need to log a root.HOW? Could someone walk me throught it?Woul really appreciate it.

What distribution / version are you running?
At the command prompt type in:
su -
and press enter. The - lets root use its own environment instead of the users.
