Does anyone know if it is possible to use software modems in Linux? I have a cheap software modem and have heard that they are made specifically for windows. I just thought with Wine and these other programs that you can run windows programs through linux maby the sofware that is need to run one of these modems could be emmulated too?

Any info would be great.

Thanks

yeah, it's possible for them to be run. You'll have to search Google or some other site for Linux soft modem drivers. I'm not sure if all soft modems will work in Linux (i'm a fairly-new noob). But my soft modem did work after downloading some drivers.

Take a look at www.linmodems.org for help with winmodems.
