Full Version: unable to mount volume
Linuxhelp > Support > Technical Support
im dual booting ubuntu with xp and when i 1st installed linux i was able to open up my other HDD with xp installed and browse around, watch stored movies, play music etc. now i get an error.

Either your system crashed or you unplugged the drive before unmounting.

Boot windows and run error checking on the drive in question

or you can try to mount the partition using the force option, as root:
mount -t ntfs-3g -o foruce /dev/sda1 /media/disk

Be sure to unmount the partition prior to unpluging the drive if this is a USB drive in linux or use the safely remove hardware icon in windows.
