I got a new PC, and I installed Slackware 10.2 on a spare HD that I just installed.
while trying to get Xorg to work, I realised that agpgart was not functioning (probably because my card is PCIe and I dont even have an AGP slot) I then noticed that, under xorgcfg's graphics card list (I was using xorgcfg -textmode) that the 7 series was not even listed. If it is supported, what settings should I use for it? Do I need a new GPU driver for the PCIe interface (as opposed to agpgart)?
if so, what do I need to download to make it compatible? I just ordered mandriva 2007 and some FreeBSD 6.1 CDs, and it would be a shame if I couldnt use either for a desktop...
I do have an integrated gpu as well, an nvidia Geforce 6100 in the motherboard, would that be supported better? I can switch to using that when I boot up Linux, as I play all my games from Windows anyway, so the extra power is kind of unneccessary anyway.
thanks in advance
