Hi everyone,

I just installed Mandrake Linux 9.1 on my Celeron 500. I have two CDROM drives installed on this system. A regular 52X IDE CDROM and a SCSI CD-RW. Linux will recognize data CDs with no problem, but when I try to access an audio CD I get the following error: "Could not enter directory /mnt/cdrom". I am not sure what to look at or try as I am new to Linux. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks

Dave

Unlike data cd's, you don't need to mount audio cd's. You just play them.

If you have installed a cdplaying program, just open it up and point it to the device (/dev/cdrom). This also holds true to playing DVD movies in a coputer, you just play them, you don't mount them.
