i've read the newbie guide and it says to type commands in a terminal for everything. but i have no idea how to open a terminal. I cant locate any terminal for me to type in
as2100
A little more information, please:

What distribution are you using?
What desktop environment? (such as KDE, Gnome, XFCE, etc..)

Any information that would let someone know what you're looking at would help.. blink.gif

you should be able to just right click on the desktop, like you do in windows and select "Terminal" or "Console"

for example I use KDE and I would select "Konsole"
