Hello Staff and visitors,

A LangaList reader recently reported a positive experience with WinLinux 2003 available at http://www.winlinux.net/2003/. A CD-ROM is available for ~$30.00. Has anyone used this version of Linux? What has been your experience with it?
From reading the LangaList entry it sounds as if this version is very user friendly, almost "Linux for Dummies!" Please offer any assistance you can provide.
Sincerely, a Win 98 user who has always been intrigued with Linux, but has never had the "courage" to attempt the other versions because I have little "geek" skill in complex PC use and problem solving.

Sincerely,

Linux has evolved to no-install live-cd stage. Check out

They can be installed if you want. If you prefer one to install on Fat32, try

Hello and a big thank you jetblackz,
I really appreciate your suggestions to additional cd-rom links. Now to another pressing issue: I have an internal US Robotics 56K Voice Win modem; it appears winmodems do not support Linux distributions. Can a compatible external modem be used without costing a "big bundle?" PC specs: Dell XPS T-500 with 256 RAM and adequate hard drive space; 500 MHz.

Sincerely,
Scott Dietert
