is there any cool backup what does the following

backup for example /home -> /backup

with all the permission and owner infos ?

On the same server? Maybe look at tar:

CODE
cd /backup; tar cfvp - /home | tar xfp -


or something like that, for across servers, checkout rsync

yes on same server..

I tryed the tar thingy but for some silly reason i blowed the secoundary drive in the air.. got error superblocks wrong could not even boot anymore..

Something must have been up on that drive before you tried this.

Have you done an fsck on it?

If you can't boot, can you at least get into single user mode, then run an fsck -y on the unmounted secondary drive?

nope was error in superblocks.. havent a clue what to do, so i did a reformat.. lost all home data, but not a big deal.. just have to reupload everthing again.

hmm.. i have that tar stuff now in crontab, rune 2 times so far, looks good, so i guess i made a mess the first time i did it smile.gif
