Another newbie Q? I am trying to run a perl script(RHat 8.0) in the background of my php - Ive tried:

system();
exec();
passthru();

Im thinking that I may not have Apache set up correctly to run/call perl. Does my assumption sound correct? If so where and what do I do to fix?

check if your PHP runs normally and not in safe mode.
Try also execute /bin/ls before trying with perl scripts.
