I have 2 hard drives and one had Fedora Core 4 on it and the other has Windows XP Home Edition. I used the Administrative tools in XP to format the drive with linux on it. Then I restarted Windows and found myself at the GRUB command line! I had forgot to delete GRUB from the MBR! Now I'm panicking. I can't delete me Windows Drive it has important data that I hadn't backed up. What should I do?!?!
Very easy to fix.

To restore the MBR boot the XP install disk to recovery mode and run fixmbr.
Or using W98 emergency boot floppy disk run fdisk /mbr.
I dont have a computer running Windows 98 and I dont know where my XP CD is. Is there a place where I could download a Windows 98 floppy disk?

EDIT: Come to think of it I dont have any floppy disks. Is there any way I could burn a rescure CD or do anything from the GRUB command-line?
There are several rescue boot CDs but I couldn't find any that has MSDOS fdisk.
To boot via commands:
grub> rootnoverify (hd0,0)
grub> makeactive
grub> chainloader +1
grub> boot
Termina has Windows 98 boot disks. smile.gif
