I am trying to connect to the web through Kppp but an error message tells me "You don't have sufficient permission to run /usr/sbin/pppd" "Please make sure that Kppp is owned by root and has the SUID bit set."
"You must enter a unique account name"
Is an account (in computer terms) the same that I would understand in plain english (banking terms).
I am a complete novice in Linux,as you can probably tell.
Can someone help me out,but not in geek language please?
Try running the program as root (Kppp).

Open up a terminal, type 'su', enter your root password, and run the command.

What distro are you using?
