What is the make / model of the USB modem.
I would download and install the RPM version. To install type in the command in a console window
rpm -Uvh filename.rpm.

AOL does not have a linux client but you can login and browse the internet.

Hi,
Its a BT Voyager 105 modem
I used to us firefox with aol dialler on windows not AOL Browser
I need to install USB MEMSTICK for transferring files (antivirus)
I have found a page that helps but i dont know how to create a mount point?
once I have access to USB Memstick I can get the AV files .RPM
what now..?
michaelk
When you plugged in the memstick was a ICON automatically created?
If this is the only USB, Firewire or SATA device then the its ID will be /dev/sda. A mount point is just a directory. Use the mkdir command i.e.
mkdir /media/usb

To mount:
mount -t vfat /dev/sda1 /mnt/usb (as root)

Installing software depends on if it source code or a RPM package. I suggest using yum.

More info about the various instlalation methods on Linux can be found on the wiki, at http://wiki.linuxhelp.net/index.php/Softwa...re_Installation

It might be worth a read if you want some background on RPM/Yum
