Should be a pretty simple answer. I've added an additional hard drive to my existing linux box. I can see the new drive listed under /dev/hdc ... but there are no partitions. I want to make the entire thing either ntfs or ext3.... it is an 80gb drive. How would I go about doing this?

Thanks agian.

Use fdisk or cfdisk to create a partition and then mkfs to format. Make sure the partition lablel is correct. You do not provide details on what you want to do with this partition so I can not suggest how to format. I've never tried formating a NTFS from linux so I suggest doing it from windows.

For ext3
mke2fs -j /dev/hdc1
