i can not seem to get any sound out, i have pluged my 2.1 sound system into my speaker output port, but nothing seems to happen. in the toolbar, Kmix appears, but it says mixer can not be found...

I downloaded the DVD evaluation version of SUSE 10 which had better multimedia capabilities than OpenSUSE, but both need tweaking. Maybe this will help:

All of my multimedia, sounds, movies, DVD's, etc., work fine now.

Hello
i had the same problem but all i did was fiddle around with the sound card settings and i got it to work. rather lucky i think. If i were you i would have a look at each setting and find out what each one does, then carry on from there.

i am new with linux so dont trust what i say biggrin.gif

If you still have trouble with your sound not working, post the output of 'lspci' here please.
