Hi people,

I have a live linux cd and a netgear wg511 v1 wireless card.

Now currently it see's the wireless card as eth0 and not wlan0, this maybe the problem.

Anyway when i type in iwpriv eth0 hostapd 1 i get " invalid command : hostapd", how can i solve this?

Many thanks

Luke

Some wireless chipsets are identified as eth0; that's normal. (I know some prism4 cards do, as well as a few others I've tried).

The error message is pretty simple. smile.gif The file hostapd cannot be found. What Live CD are you using? I'm sure you can find that package rather easily, especially if it's based on debian.

Try 'apt-cache search hostap'
