I have changed my 17" monitor, due to desk space to a 15"flat panel. My settings for the 17" was 85 hz I can change it to 60hz and I can use the flat panel, however when it is rebooting I cant see anything other than mode not supported until my desktop gets loaded... I suspect it is trying to run in 85hz while booting? can someone please tell me where to look to change this... I am having to boot with the 17" then switch to the flat panel. I am running fedora core with kde 3.5 desktop.

Sincerely
matt
Don't know if this may be a help. But have you tried run xorgsetup from the terminal. That always detected my monitor's refresh rate and resolution for me. Other than that use xorgconfig to generate a new xorg file by giving it the information manually.
