Hi,

I'm a bit of a noob as far a linux goes but i'm struggling through.

I have have a Network Storage Drive (NAS) that runs embedded linux systems. It is effectively a Power PC booting a stripped down copy of Yellow Dog from the hard disk.

It is pretty good but I wanted either telnet or SSH access so I could change things without having to take the hard disk out every time.

I downloaded Knoppix Live and put the NAS Hard Drive in My Comp so i could get full access to the linux partition.

I downloaded the SSH & telnet PowerPC packages from yellow dogs site and extracted them as best I could to the my drive.

I popped the HDD back in the NAS and booted up.

Good news is nothing is broken but I still can't get SSH to run.

I've gone back and forth a few time trying to adjust config files, init.d, rc3 etc but I'm not really sure what i'm doing.

Can anyone tell me what files I need to get it going.

I have no command line access to the partition so all I can do is add, move and edit files

Thanks in Advance
