Full Version: Help with Nmap
Linuxhelp > Support > Technical Support
Okay so here's my problem. I have a server that runs with out a monitor and it's configured via DHCP. It's on the same LAN as my desktop computer and runs linux. I can't seem to be able to get the IP for the server, so one guy in my CCNA class said to use the Nmap command and then I would be able to see my server for my desktop computer which runs ubuntu. Now I know the Nmap command kind of and have used to before to map ports but thats it's. I'm wondering how I use Nmap to retrive the IP of my server.

A server... With a dynamic IP?

Would probably be easier to plug a monitor in
