Full Version: Newbie needs help with Redhat 8.0
Linuxhelp > Support > Technical Support

I am in an independent study class at my high school, and I have chosen to take on the task of installing linux on a coumputer and connecting it to our windows NT network. I know that I have to use samba, but I do not know how to get it working correctly. I have read many tutorials online, but they all seem to be worded for "advanced" users. In other words, they are difficult to understand. My main task is to install one of our schools network printers on this Redhat Linux 8.0 computer. I know that the network card is up and working because I do have internet access on this computer. Please Help!!!

Forgive me because I've only had a quick look at Redhat 8.0, but I think if you go into the "Start Here" folder, you should find in there somewhere a setup program for printers. I remember looking at it before, and it was a pretty easy walk-through. Have you tried this route yet?
