Full Version: Bootloader Help Needed
Linuxhelp > Support > Technical Support
I have installed Fedora Core 4. I chose the grub bootloader and let it install to the mbr. My linux partition is 40gb of a 250gb drive that has nothing on it. My problem is, the bootloader does not load. I boot straight to WindowsXP (pro). I am listing my hard drive configuration below in case it is needed. Thanks in advance if anyone can help.

1. 300gb SATA partitioned into 1 80gb NTFS (windows) and 1 220gb NTFS (storage) SDA1 and 2
2. 120gb IDE with single NTFS partition (storage) HDA1
3. 80gb IDE with single NTFS partition (storage) HDB1
4. 250gb IDE with 1 40gb EXT3 partition (linux) and 1 210gb NTFS partition (storage) SDB1,2 and 3

Let me know if more info is needed.
Which MBR did you install it too? You need to install GRUB to the MBR of the primary boot device, usually hda. If you didn't install it to hda, say you installed it to sdb where you linux drive is, you will either need to point your bios to that drive or, reinstall GRUB to hda.

If you want help re-installing, its really pretty easy so don't worry, let me know.
