2005-09-14 - Slackware 10.2 has Finally been released. Sure it's not the 11.0 we have all been waiting for. But as we all know, versions in linux are some form of marketing scam to try to keep up with one another. Anyway this release is basicly a release with all the current packages that have been surfacing since the last release. This makes life easier. Some highlights of 10.2 include.
Linux 2.4.31 kernel, with Linux 2.6.13 also available as an option.
Support for SCSI, RAID, and SATA is offered as a boot option in the installer.
glibc 2.3.5 with NPTL support for improved thread performance when using a kernel with NPTL support
KDE 3.4.2
XFce 4.2.2
Theres tones more. including simple apps like Finally including Firefox, Thunderbird.
Im downloading it as we speak. I'll definately be writing a review. smile.gif
