I am new to Linux in general and do to a problem(that was my fault) I had to reinstall my dirstro(RedHat 8). After reinstalling I used the updater and download the new kernal. It was then installing the kernal and froze at 100% After waiting about 3 minutes I used the power button to restart. Now the wizard keeps tellimg me:
Your system, is currently running kernel-2.4.18-14, but the newest installed kernel is kernel-2.4.18-26.8.0. It is recommended that you reboot at the first opportunity to test this new kernel.
now when I installed this the previous time it did not freeze and the new kernel choice was automacically added to grub, and it worked fine.
BUT NOW it is not on grub, and due to my little expierence I dont what to do.
can i unistall the new kernel and start over-if so how?
can I just add it to grub- if so how?
something else?
thanks
