Full Version: New Kernel Won't Boot

hell's Flame
Hi there,

I have a big problem that needs to be solved as soon as possible. I compiled a new kernel 2.6.11-12 on my FC4 pc (original kernel version 2.6.11-1). This new kernel has been patched with the realttime-preempt patch (don't think the patch's the problem though).

When I try to boot on this new kernel image, I get the following kernel panic message:

VFS: Can't find ext3 filesystem on dev dm-1.
mount: error 22 mounting ext3
ERROR opening /dev/console!!!!: 2
error dup2'ing fd of 0 to 0
error dup2'ing fd of 0 to 1
error dup2'ing fd of 0 to 2
switchroot: mount failed: 22
kernel panic - not syncing: Attempted to kill init!

I included ext3 filsystem support in the new kernel (not as a module). But I can't see what can be the problem.

Thank you for urgent help !!!!
