When I try to install anything on redhat, it says that i am missing two files
Samba-commen
Pam
where can i get these? how did they disapear from my computer?
and what do these files do?

Samba is windows file-sharing, and PAM is authentixation. You dont samba unless you need to interact with Windows computers for file-sharing or printnig, but PAM is crucial to virtually all systems.

They aren't files, they are complete packages. If you cant install them using a package manager (not sure what redhat uses by default to install things) then you might need to reinstall your system.

Try and find some RPMs to install the packages on rpm.pbone.net - Once downloaded they can be installed using

CODE
rpm -i name_of_rpm.rpm


But, if you dont have PAM, you shouldnt be able to log in...
