Full Version: Internet Running Slow
Linuxhelp > Support > Technical Support
I just installed suse 9.1 on my computer and i really like it, only thing is my internet is running really slow in konq and firefox. what is the problem and is there anything i can do.
For firefox, you should have a minimum of 128mb of ram and 500mhz (even then it might be a bit sluggish).

With SuSe's default KDE, you'll probably want 256mb and more than 1ghz for it to be comfortable.

How much ram do you have, and what speed is your computer?

You might want to try using mozilla (not firefox), or increasing the size of your page file (if you have unallocated space).

If all else fails, check to see that you have the right video card specified in xorg.conf or XF86Config (though SuSe is pretty good at detecting it)
How are you connecting to the internet? Maybe your network settings need tweaking.
