I'm trying to create a cron job that would allow this rsync program to running nighly...
SSH is used to connect and a password is needed.(when I run the jon manually, I am prompted for a password) Can someone tell me how I would go about making this work in a script.

thanks, if you could email me at pacian@pacian.net the answer, it would be great appreciated.

here is the sample rsync script.

rsync -Dlupog --recursive -e ssh 10.1.1.1:/data1 /data1
rsync -Dlupog --recursive -e ssh 10.1.1.1:/data2 /data2

This is something that I have never tried to do myself, however, i came across the following article, perhaps it may help:

http://www.linuxsecurity.com/content/view/113149/151/

If this helped, please let me know, this would be something nice to add to the wiki.

I'm not sure if the previous post solved the issue or not. It seemed like it would, but if it didn't you could check this topic:

http://www.linuxquestions.org/questions/history/327212

It has a link to another page on how to set up what you're looking for, as well as some other useful tidbits. HTH.
