Full Version: Kernel Question
Linuxhelp > Support > Technical Support
I managed to get lilo going giving me the choice of booting windows xp or linux. When I boot up linux at the end of a long page it says kernel panic
and the system sticks.
How do I correct this problem.
We we need WAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY more information...

Try to find an error buried in the output (maybe something about IRQ handling etc.) and post it here.

Also, what distribution are you using? Is this a new problem? Have you just installed the system?

It's a first nearly sucessfull install. I am using slackware linux, I'll add more info as I get it.
Do you have a 64 bit system, I had the same error and was told I needed to download the 64 bit version
I can't remember what system versiion I've got.
I can't remember how to find it though, even though it must be easy.
Help would be appreciated.
