Full Version: Mandrake Monitor Trouble
Linuxhelp > Support > Technical Support
I installed Mandrake but got the monitor settings wrong but now I don't know how to interrupt the start up process of the GUI and get access to the command line part instead.
(I'm a total noob when it comes to Linux happy.gif)

(If it starts X all I get is a bunch or blue lines and a distorted cursor)

Also if anyone happens to know what settings works with a Samsung CJ4581 monitor that info would be useful (it's a really old monitor)

when the computer starts up ,and you are at that blue screen disorted cursor stuff, press ctrl-alt-f1

login as root

cd /home
mkdir backup
and copy from /etc/X11 or the XF86Config file to backup
cp /etc/X11/XF86Config /home/backup
rm /etc/X11/XF86Config

and X11 will tell ya a bunch of warrnings about things, then It'll offer to set up again, do it, correctly this time smile.gif
