dimitri
first, i am a beginner and don't know much about it unfortunaly.

my linux computer is serving as a fileserver for my little homenetwork and dials in to the broadband. when the broadband was not working this morning i just thought i restart all the computer.

the linux computer had troubles starting up, it does a few lines which it answeres with OK and stalls then after "Setting hostname" which it still answeres with OK, goes to the next line and stalls there. Had it on for 30min there, so nothing would ever happen.

the line "Setting clock (utc)" answeres with no, no big drama, but maybe there is a connection.

any ideas how i get my thing to run?

cheers, dimitri

It fails to fetch the current time from another server. Your connection seems to be down.

It's probally hanging on trying to bring up your NIC.

Try control+c
DS2K3
Try booting in intereactive mode (press "i" when prompted to do so) then a) you will be able to see what it is that fails, and cool.gif be able to skip it
