Full Version: Debian Linux Install Problem

Hi, I recently tried to install debian sarge using the net install disk. Everything was well and good until I completed the installation. When I first time boot it up, my screen went black at the stage I am suppose to login, and it stayed that way unless I reboot. I suspected that I didn't setup my video card driver or monitor properly for the X window to work.

I am very new at using Linux, and I have no idea where to begin to look for to change the setup. Could someone please give me some hints as to how to fix this problem? Thank you.

Try pressing ctrl-alt-backspace to kill the X server, which should drop you back to a console login, from which you can run the config (noramlly xorgconfig for xorg systems) program to setup your videocard etc.
