I installed RH 7.3 on an old laptop (150mhz, 80mb ram, 2gig HDD).
I accidently entered in the wrong rates for the screen, so now x tries to start over and over again, and doesn't give up
Thus, I cannot log in on any terminal, and fix the settings.
I've tried 'i' for interactive setup, and stopped wine and xinitrc from loading, but X still starts.
Any help?

I assume your using grub as a boot loader.
To Boot to single user mode reboot your machine, immediately press 'e' and then pick the one that shows "kernel" and type 'e' again. Now you are shown the kernel line, go to the very end, add a space, and append the word "single" (without quotes). Now press 'b' and it will boot to single user mode. Now go edit the xf86config files

In Interactve start up, say yes to everything except "dm" (display manager).

michaelk, thanks.

DS2K3: 7.3 doesn't use dm, and even going into interactive startup and stopping everything it lets you load, X will still start. =/
