Linuxhelp > Support > Programming in Linux
Hi guy's I need a good game programming script for my end of year programming project at school any idea's!
You coud use C/C++ they can both be used for games. Java is a possibility, as are perl and Python.

cool is python simple,, what has the easest sytax
I dont know any of them.. My skills are mostly web related, with a dash of Pascal and VB...
Python is simple, but you must be familiar with the concepts of OOP(object oriented programming).

If you plan to create a simple game(not using hi-fi 3d),then you can use python.

But if you plan to develop a 3d game, you will have to choose c++.

If you dont know C++ and want to attempt this, then the task is quite mammoth.
okay well I've looked at the syntax for python and it's not the easiest I've seen do you know of any good beginners guides to python, plus do you know any games that I could look at that were made in python no matter how bad I just need a example
Lets get this straight. As you know you can do gtk and Qt programming with Python...thus theoretically games can be created with python. But it is seldom done.Python is mostly used for creating backend of many huge software programs.

As for creating games....mostly C/C++ is used.SDL library is also used.

For examples...checkout..
Sounds good, what about C#
Eve Online was coded in python, as an example of what you can pull off. If you're allowed to use other software, you could use the Ogre3D renderer since it's cross platform, and runs both DX and OGL api's.
