Full Version: Get The Scroll Button To Work When Pressed
Linuxhelp > Support > Technical Support
Hi, I have a M$ intellimouse 5button and i have been able to get everything to work including the back forward and scroll function in firefox but when i press the scroll button it takes me back like 5 pages and i know that in windows it comes up with a little white thing and lets me scroll, here is my xorg.conf entry
Section "InputDevice"
Identifier "Mouse0"
Driver "mouse"
Option "Protocol" "ExplorerPS/2"
Option "Device" "/dev/input/mice"
Option "Buttons" "7"
Option "ZAxisMapping" "6 7"
#Option "Emulate3Buttons" "yes"
In linux, the scroll wheel is generally used to emulate the third button, which in my opinion is much more helfull than that stupid scroll thing. I don't know of any way to make that thing work. However, if you don't want it to click you back five pages, which I unerstand, there is a program called imwheel that works really well for 3+ button mice. Try that, and see if it helps you out, it may even be able to do the scroll thing, have never tried, but I use it on my five buttons and have no real problems.
