I'm a newbie so bear with me. I was running SUSE 8.2 and decided to upgrade to 9.2. The upgrade appeared to go without a hitch, however I can not boot up! I can load the SUSE 8.2 CD and boot the OS on the drive and see my files and directories, but can't run any apps. I tried creating a boot disk.....no luck. HELP!! Of course there is data that I can't loose, and I have no idea where to start.

I can probely help you seeing as I also did what it appears you have done with the same version of linux. I know that when you run the upgrade from suse linux 8.2 to 9.2 it takes off lots of files that I think have no real use. That could be part of the problem. Now the other thing that you might have to do is to install the new kernel 2.6.9. If you could give me some more detail I might beable to help you

thanx docmur
