Using knoppix is there away to move files in a windows NTFS partition around so files that were in a old profile can sit in my new one being that I made the old profile private. If I can't move files in an NTFS can I move Files in a FAT32 system. Is it even safe to do the convertion? And if it is does any one have any good software for linux or other? even windows if it's possible

thanks DOCMUR
See your other post. I know you can convert FAT32 to NTFS but I do not know about the other way around with out loosing data. FAT32 is fully suppported in linux and so it is not a problem to move files around.

you could use partition magic 8 it can do the job, without data loss, but microsofts built in hd defrag seems to go slower after....
