im trying to connect to a wireless network but im not exactly sure how to. my o.s. recognizes my network card and my distro is suse 9.2 pro

the network card is a d-link dwl 520 pci 802.11b
It detects it?

Congrats, you're in the 1% of users that linux actually detects your card. You lucky bastard.

A few commands that should help you get connected:

iwlist scan wlan0 (or wlan0 scan) (this will give you all the information but your encryption key that you'll need for iwconfig)

man iwconfig = this is the program that'll let you enter your SSID, encryption key, etc.

ipconfig wlan0 up

dhcpcd wlan0
well i learnd a few new things with that trick but onlt`y the second comand worked, the others said somthing about a "bash" or that it was invalid, in the mannual i even cut and pasted some of the comands and it said that those were invalid. maybe i missed somthing or maybe my card still isn't configured properly. is there a way i can double check it?
