Full Version: Mandrake 10.1 And Resin 3.0
Linuxhelp > Support > Technical Support
I have installed Resin 3.0 on Mandrake 10.1. When I make requests to the http server from the machine it is installed on it works fine. But when I make requests from the XP machine on my LAN I get no response. There is nothing in the Resin access log and the browser on the XP machine just times out. I have turned off the firewall and still nothing. The firewall is shorewall 2.0. I turned it off via the Mandrake UI. I am able to ping the linux machine from the XP machine and I also have Samba working between them. I just can't seem to get the http server set up properly.

I'm not sure where to go with this. Any help appreciated.
I have no experience with Resin but is this a standalone server or running with apache?
How are you attempting to make a request from the XP machine? Post the exact command.
Are you sure the firewall is off?
It sounds like the server hasnt bound to the external address. I ahve never used resin, so Im not sure how it works. If it is a service which requires (x)inetd then the configuration will probably be with the rest of you inet config files (normally womehwere in /etc/). Otherwsie, you may want to have a look at the resin FAQ
