I am SUSE Linux 9.2 user and i couldn't find .bashrc and .profile in my home directory.
How can i able set PATH and other environment variables with out appending .bashrc and .profile files
Jim
are you sure they aren't there? Files with the dot prefix don't show up durring a standard ls command, use ls -a to show all the files in the directory.

Otherwise, you can just create the files and start adding your preferences.

All files that start with a . are hidden files...like Jim says you have to do a ls -a to view them
