Ok im back with yet another problem. Xterm will not open, normally this is not a problem but i have switched to PEKWM rather than kde, which is where this gets tricky. in PEK i have to use Xterm to open any progs. so you can see my problem. I am lucky enough that PEK has a Mozilla Menu other wise i wouldn't be sending this. so here is the error i get. because trying to open xterm now makes xorg die.
xterm: Error 14, errno 21: Is a directory
Reason: spawn: open() failed on /dev/tty
I recently re-compiled to kernel 2.6.10 from 2.4.*, running slackware 10 anyhelpful hints would be great.

Can you just post the output of the command..
$strace xterm
Because the error you are getting is quite weird,so i guess your configurations are scrwed.
