Full Version: Kernel Panic

Hello,

My laptop running RedHat 9 has a problem. I think that it ran out of power during shutdown. Now, when I try to boot, I get a Kernel panic - init not found. I put in the RedHat rescue CD and the drives fsck'ed clean. I mounted them and most of my data looks in tact - but /sbin and a couple others are messed up. Is there anything I can do to fix this?

Here are digital pictures of the screens:

Thanks.

Do you think you could reduce the size of those images, or link to them? They make the post hard to read, and take a long time to load

Sorry about that - it's fixed.

Groovy

Are you using GRUB as the bootloader? Only it tends to make passing kernel parameters a bit more convenient than LILO

Yes, I am using GRUB.

What have you got in /boot?
