I have a Dell Inspiron 7500 laptop, which I use at a mounting station as a desktop. I just transfered my old diskdrive info to a larger one, and now I have the old one in a casing, with a USB connection. I'd like to use it as separate partition, for Linux programs.

Is this possible? unsure.gif

If so, what do I have to do? Can I partition it? How? huh.gif

Please help! ohmy.gif Costeno

It isn't as easy as one would think.

I'm not sure which distribution can be installed to a USB drive anymore. And of those that can do not provide a kernel or initrd that includes USB modules. Which means it will not boot.
